![]() ![]() Should I continue to wrestle with Dropsync, or is there a way to utilize what seems to be this "new" Dropbox facility? All you nerd types, you should know, from my perspective, Dropbox seems impenetrably dense. But now I'm wondering, well, what about backing up my android devices, too? I'm either not equipped or interested enough to pursue this on my own. And I do admit it seemed pretty easy to activate an auto backup of Windows files of my choosing. Today I'm now also running a copy of Windows 11 Pro, on its own device, but I still get missives from Dropbox (if not more!) Over recent days, Dropbox has encouraged me to run their "automated" setup, which seems to target my pc. ![]() It never seemed to work very well: syncing was always interrupted by one or another. All file transfers and communications between user devices and cloud storage servers are securely encrypted and do not go through our servers. The app will keep your local copy and cloud in sync. That being said, foldersync works with like twenty different services, has INCREDIBLY fine grained control over the rules of each sync, and has tasked hooks which for me eliminates the need for dropsync's excellent remote folder watching. At the moment I sync these folders: Books, dicts and note/backup. In Dropsync (or FolderSync), connect your Dropbox account and pick a location for your local vault. Tap the account under Manage Accounts and make sure that Contacts, Gmail and Calendar are selected. For long I tried to emulate my old experience with backup systems in Mac, and tried to bend dropbox to that task. This app is just a shortcut to access the standard Android settings. On device B, navigate to Settings > Accounts & Sync and make sure that Sync has been turned on. Launch Dropsync from your list of applications, it will ask you to. I used to have just two android devices, a tablet and a phone. Now, let us have a look at the working of this app.
